About: About

ARTIST STATEMENT

Throughout my life, art has always been a way for me to express my emotions, reflect, and learn new techniques and skills, not only for art but for my life. During my high school years, I challenged myself by taking numerous different art classes to not only improve but also explore my strengths and skills. I have learned to make art through multiple mediums, from simple graphite drawings to digital graphics and everything in between. High school has taught me many things about myself I have never known before. On my path of self-discovery, I have found that I enjoy making self-portraits in different mediums to reveal new perspectives and identities of myself and my world. After mastering the foundational skills of my long list of previous art classes, I am excited to participate in a more advanced senior curriculum to experiment with a more personal style in ways in which I can send a message through my artwork. I am currently working on building an impressive and unique portfolio, as well as researching my AP inquiry question: What does competition mean to different people? It is my hope that I can portray my passions other than art, such as athletics, in my projects. I am looking forward to pursuing a career in art graphics, and I hope that it allows me to extend my artistic journey throughout my life.
